it has been a long time since i was here. a lot has happened. i have just sat for my exams for graduate studies.
they were not bad but they could be better. the question that keeps returning to my mind is if fwe will eveer as kenya get to reap from the internet boom. they say that the cable will be here soon, but how long will it take before we can enjoy it.
Are our corporate networks prepared to take advantage of the new speeds? are the well designed and optimised?

what i learnt today
today i learnt a new term in networking. Green field installation. To borrow from SearchVoip.com it means In networking, a greenfield deployment is the installation and configuration of a network where none existed before, for example in a new office. A brownfield deployment, in contrast, is an upgrade or addition to an existing network and uses some legacy components. The terms come from the building industry, where undeveloped land (and especially unpolluted land) is described as greenfield and previously developed (often polluted and abandoned) land is described as brownfield.
